Matthew S. Samra DO, FACOS
Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Matthew Samra has developed an exemplary reputation as a top notch vascular and endovascular surgeon along the Jersey Shore.
After receiving his Bachelor of Science at William Paterson College, he attended medical school at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. He graduated near the top of his class in 1999 and entered general surgery residency in Brooklyn, NY at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, an affiliate of Weill Cornell Medical College. During this time, he trained extensively at the prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center, and North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. He was Chief Resident in 2003-2004 and developed a passion for Cardiovascular health and treatment.
Dr. Samra then completed two separate post-graduate fellowships, in cardiothoracic surgery as well as vascular surgery, at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center. He is board certified in both specialties. After graduation, he was named Director of the Deborah Center of Venous Disease and the Program Director of the Vascular Surgery Fellowship, where he was in charge of teaching and training many vascular surgeons over the years. He is a clinical instructor in vascular surgery at Jersey Shore University Hospital and continues to educate medical students, Physician Assistant Students, and general surgery residents.
Always on the cutting edge of technology and treatment of vascular disorders, Dr. Samra has been named by South Jersey Magazine as "Top Doc" Vascular Surgeon and by Living Well Magazine as "Top Vascular Surgeon" for multiple years running. He looks forward to continuing his tradition of caring for his patients, helping them achieve good health and giving them the quality of life they deserve.
