A native of Delaware, Dr. Ramkrishna Patel earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Delaware in Newark, DE, with a minor in Psychology, graduating from the Honors program. He was also honored with the Richard M. Johnson Jr. award, recognizing the top junior student who best exemplifies the ideals of scholarship and intellectual leadership. He then continued his education at Sidney Kimmel Medical College (formerly Jefferson Medical College) in Philadelphia, PA, where he received nominations to the Hobart Amory Hare Honor Society and the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honors society. Dr. Patel graduated at the top of his class with Magna Cum Laude honors. His educational journey then took him to Albany Medical College, where he completed a surgical internship and integrated training in Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology with nationally renowned faculty.
During his college years, Dr. Patel authored articles in the basic sciences. He continued to focus on Aortic and endovascular interventions as a medical student and resident, and he gained experience in minimally invasive vascular interventions during his tenure with the Vascular Institute.
Dr. Patel's interests encompass peripheral vascular disease, with a particular emphasis on critical limb-threatening ischemia and wound healing through both arterial and venous interventions. He is deeply passionate about the treatment of oncology patients, emphasizing minimally invasive options to mitigate systemic side effects through intra-arterial and percutaneous image-guided treatments. Additionally, he received specialized training in embolization procedures for men's and women's health.
